Saint Abdullah & Jason Nazary are truly hot sh•t. Some words on their latest record... They continue to blend dreamlike collage, snatches of radio, free jazz, Sufi chants and improvisational chops to impressive effect. Our Beethoven is Elise Macmillan(Emacs) and John Andrew Wilhite. The Norwegian-American violinist and double bassist move freely from their instruments, to electronics, archival material and song when the spirit arises. The music is formed through experimentations with genre, attitude and form. Fragments of traditional melodies and fragile harmonics spin out into new realms. Their self titled record is produced by Ulla Straus and will be released on her label in collaboration with Centralbanken, Oslo.
