O Yuki Conjugate, Love-Songs, Alliyah Enyo, DJ Peanut

Phase Group and A Cut Above team up for a night at The Old Hairdressers featuring live sets by legendary UK band O Yuki Conjugate (OYC), Hamburg/Berlin experimental trio Love-Songs and Glasgow-based interdisciplinary artist Alliyah Enyo, with a DJ set from Glasgow chug sorceress DJ Peanut.

O Yuki Conjugate

O YUKI CONJUGATE (OYC) were formed in Nottingham in 1982 on the wave of experimental music that emerged out of post-punk, experimenting with early industrial and electronic influences and quickly developing their own blend of 'dirty ambient' - multi layered, hyper textural and distinctly gritty.

OYC have always forged their own path, moving from their early industrial and electronic influences to incorporate the then-unfashionable ‘ambient’ music into their own sound. Largely ignored in the UK, they’ve consistently found audiences in the US and Europe more receptive.

Currently in their fourth incarnation - based around core members Andrew Hulme and Roger Horberry - OYC are coming out of a recent hibernation to play new shows.

Love-Songs

Love-Songs are a Hamburg and Berlin-based trio exploring the space between dub, krautrock, experimental electronics and electro-acoustic improvisation. Their hypnotic, free-flowing music balances rhythmic structures with organic textures and playful experimentation, which they have taken a step further once again with their upcoming album 'Gumo' on Phase Group.

Alliyah Enyo

Alliyah Enyo creates vocal-led experimental compositions, most often performed in site specific spaces which allow her to harness and respond to natural echoic phenomena. Her style drifts seamlessly between choral, ambient, and leftfield r&b, with touches of medieval, folk and neo-classical musics.

Alliyah's work is predominantly created for Glasgow-based label Somewhere Press, for whom she is currently working on her third solo album, titled ‘When All is Dust’, due in 2027.

DJ Peanut

DJ Peanut is a Glasgow-based underground electronic music selector and Noods Radio resident, known for her weirdo, chugging tracks, downtempo, new beat, and slow-burn electronic selections.
